The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has announced an advance property tax rebate scheme for the financial year 2026–27, offering citizens a rebate of up to 15 per cent for early payment.
Under the scheme, taxpayers who pay their property tax between April 9 and May 31, 2026, will be eligible for a 12 per cent rebate. An additional 1 per cent rebate will be granted for payments made online, increasing the total benefit to 13 per cent.
Moreover, taxpayers who have consistently paid advance property tax for the past three consecutive years will receive an extra 2 per cent rebate, making them eligible for the maximum 15 per cent discount.
The scheme is applicable only to property owners who have cleared all dues up to the financial year 2025–26 and have no outstanding payments.
Ahmedabad has approximately 26 lakh property taxpayers, including around 6.5 lakh commercial and 19.5 lakh residential property holders.
According to sources from the Revenue Committee, over 6 lakh citizens availed of the rebate scheme last year, generating Rs 845.35 crore in revenue for the civic body. A total rebate of Rs 89.90 crore was extended to taxpayers.
The AMC expects greater participation in the scheme during the current financial year.
