Ahmedabad is gearing up for significant traffic changes as the Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train project continues to progress. Construction activities are set to ramp up between Sabarmati and Vatva, with key operations like pillar erection and segment installation being prioritized.
Starting in March, vehicular traffic will be restricted at the Anupam Railway Overbridge (ROB) during nighttime hours. The Ahmedabad City Police Commissioner has announced that this closure will affect both ends of the bridge from 11 PM to 6 AM on specific dates:
- March 9 to 11
- March 20 and 21
- March 26 to 30
The restrictions aim to facilitate vital steel bridge fabrication and shifting work related to the bullet train corridor.
To help commuters navigate these changes, alternative routes have been proposed. Traffic heading from Dedki Garden can divert through various paths:
- From Kangaroo Circle (Maharana Pratap Circle), motorists should head via Madrasi Mandir towards Jhagadia Bridge.
- A route from Dedki Garden Crossroads goes through Siddhi Vinayak Circle, taking a left towards Railway Colony T-junction, then right at LG Choki T-junction toward Khokhra and CTM.
- An additional suggestion involves traveling from Dedki Garden via Siddhi Vinayak Circle and Giraffe Circle, turning left at Swaminarayan Mandir T-junction before proceeding past LG Hospital.
The police have urged all motorists to adhere strictly to the diversion routes during these closures, emphasizing cooperation for smoother traffic management throughout the construction period.
