The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has taken decisive action by sealing 25 paying guest (PG) units located in Premchand Nagar Society, part of the Bodakdev ward. This operation was prompted by numerous complaints regarding the illegal commercial use of these units within a residential area.
Earlier, AMC officials had served notices to the operators due to their failure to comply with regulatory standards. They hadn’t provided necessary permissions or documentation, and their lack of response to multiple warnings raised further concerns.
On Thursday, following the lack of satisfactory replies from the PG unit operators, AMC teams moved forward with sealing the properties. Police were present during the operation to ensure it proceeded without incident.
Operators have now been directed to obtain all required permissions and adhere strictly to established PG regulations before they can reopen their businesses.
