Ambaji is buzzing with joy. Anant Ambani, the son of Reliance’s Mukesh Ambani, has made a generous donation of ₹27.5 crore to the Ambaji Temple. This remarkable act is aimed at supporting the newly launched Jai Ambe Tithi Bhojan Yojana, which offers free meals to pilgrims visiting this sacred site.
The program’s goal? To ensure that no devotee leaves hungry after seeking blessings at the temple. On February 18, just as the scheme kicked off, it witnessed an incredible response from the public — contributions soared over ₹30 crore on day one alone.
Anant’s hefty donation will fund meal services for five years. That’s quite a commitment! Each day, it’ll cost about ₹1,51,000 to provide meals twice daily to all visitors. Isn’t it heartwarming to see such dedication?
Community participation plays a big role in this initiative as well. Pilgrims are encouraged to contribute on special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries — even in memory of loved ones. One notable donor from Ahmedabad stepped up with a contribution of ₹52 lakh to cover meals for 35 specific days during major events like Purnimas and both Navratri festivals.
The launch event was marked by gratitude and appreciation. The District Collector expressed thanks on behalf of the Ambaji Devasthan Trust, acknowledging Anant Ambani and the Reliance Foundation for their significant support. Major donors were also honored by the temple trust during this ceremony — a fitting tribute indeed!
This initiative isn’t just about food; it’s about enriching pilgrims’ spiritual experiences too. The meals provided will be nutritious and served as “Maa ka Prasad,” making every visit even more memorable for those who come seeking solace.
As thousands flock to Ambaji each day, it’s inspiring to see such community spirit taking root through generosity and faith.
