CBSE Board Exams Start; Over 80,000 Students to Appear in Gujarat

More than 80,000 students affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in Gujarat will begin their Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations today. Across the country, over 43.67 lakh candidates have registered for the exams this year.

In Gujarat, over 45,000 Class 10 students and more than 35,000 Class 12 students are appearing for the exams. Last year, over 75,000 candidates from the state had taken the board examinations.

This year, CBSE will conduct exams in 203 subjects — 83 for Class 10 and 120 for Class 12. On the first day, Class 10 students will write the Mathematics (Standard) and Mathematics (Basic) papers, while Class 12 students will appear for Entrepreneurship and Biotechnology.

The Class 10 exams will end on March 11, while the Class 12 exams will continue until April 10.

The Board has issued guidelines regarding permitted items inside exam halls. Students can carry their admit cards, school ID cards, stationery in transparent pouches, geometry boxes, pens, pencils, transparent water bottles, and basic travel passes.

Electronic devices such as mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, calculators, and pen drives are strictly prohibited. Only diabetic students are allowed to carry food items.

CBSE has urged students not to pay attention to rumours or misinformation about paper leaks and to rely only on official announcements from the Board for accurate updates.
