Police have said that the 21-year-old L D Arts College student found dead at the Gujarat University guest house on Friday died by suicide, and no foul play has been found so far.
However, the exact reason behind the incident is still unknown.The student, Maheshwari Khachar, a third-year L D Arts College student, was staying at the university guest house while attending an NSS camp. She was originally from Botad and lived in Ahmedabad’s Ranip area.
Her body was discovered in her room after she did not return to university activities on Friday afternoon.Police registered an accidental death case and conducted a forensic examination of the scene. No suicide note was found. Officers have questioned some of her friends and sent her mobile phone for forensic analysis to search for possible clues.
Officials said Khachar had returned to Ahmedabad from her hometown just a day before the incident, and statements from family members will be recorded later.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are awaiting forensic and digital reports to determine the circumstances leading to her death.
