Chiripal Ahmedabad Squash Open 2026 wraps up maiden edition with 229 players from 19 states

The first edition of Chiripal Ahmedabad Squash Open, a 2-Star National Circuit tournament, concluded on Sunday after four days of high-octane contest between players. Organised in collaboration with the Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI) and the AllGujarat Squash Racket Association (AGSRA), the Chiripal Ahmedabad Squash Open 2026 featured some 229 participants from 19 states, who competed across some 11 categories from Junior Under-11 to Men’s Over-45, with a total of 218 matches played at the Sports Club of Gujarat and EKA Club.

The finals saw powerful and dynamic performances across age groups. In the junior categories, Naina Anand clinched the Girls Under-11 title while Kandha Swamy emerged champion in Boys Under-11. Aarna Rao and Rohan Khurana topped the Girls and Boys Under-13 categories respectively, while Trisha Shah (Girls Under-15), Vedant Agarwal (Boys Under-15) and Pradeep Singh Rathore (Boys Under-17) secured decisive victories in their categories. In the senior events, Aadhya Budhia claimed the Women’s title and Vedant Patel won the Men’s final, while the veterans’ categories saw Laxman Joshi take the Men’s Over-35 crown and Bharath Danam lift the Men’s Over-45 title.

Shri Vansh Chiripal, Promoter, Chiripal Group; Shri Bhanu Pratap Singh Walla, Secretary, AGSRA; Shri Chintan Chouksi, Honorary Secretary, Sports Club of Gujarat and Shri Nehal Shah, Chairman, Sports Committee, Sports Club of Gujarat attended the closing ceremony held on Sunday at Sports Club of Gujarat.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Vansh Chiripal, Promoter, Chiripal Group, said, “At Chiripal Group, we see sport as a long-term investment in discipline, resilience and community building. The response to the first edition of the Chiripal Ahmedabad Squash Open has been encouraging, and it strengthens our resolve to work closely with associations and coaches to build a sustainable squash ecosystem in Gujarat and give a platform to young players to grow. Our focus is not just tournaments but creating pathways for young talent to grow and enable them to compete at the national level with the right coaching, exposure and infrastructure support.”

The tournament forms part of the Chiripal Squash Excellence Programme, which works in close collaboration with AGSRA on talent identification, athlete management, competitive exposure and ecosystem development by setting up dedicated Squash Clinics, launching and conducting coaching programmes and multi-city tournaments across Gujarat. The organisers acknowledged the support of the Sports Club of Gujarat, EKA Club, SRFI, AGSRA, match officials, medical partners, operations teams and support staff for ensuring the smooth conduct of the championship.

With its strong national participation and competitive depth, the Chiripal Ahmedabad Squash Open 2026 marked a successful start and set the foundation for future editions.
