The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is intensifying road infrastructure development to ensure world-class mobility, efficient traffic management, and seamless connectivity ahead of the 2030 Commonwealth Games. Between April 1, 2025 and January 26, 2026, AMC completed 8.45 lakh metric tonnes of road work across all seven zones—the highest ever in the city’s history.
Officials said the extensive work has significantly improved major, connecting, and internal roads, boosting traffic flow and commuting efficiency. With road projects continuing across multiple zones, total road development is expected to touch 9.5 lakh metric tonnes by the end of the financial year, strengthening the city’s readiness for international-scale events.
