Anjala S S, a student of the MDes Ceramic and Glass Design programme (2022 batch) at the National Institute of Design (NID), has secured third rank at the national level in the Design for Bharat category of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026. Her project, titled Automorphosis, focuses on recycling automobile glass waste in India.
The project addresses the challenge of managing discarded windshields and windows, which are often sent to landfills despite glass being fully recyclable. Through her design intervention, Anjala explored sustainable solutions for processing automotive glass waste.
Anjala represented NID Ahmedabad at the national forum held in alignment with the Viksit Bharat@2047 vision. The dialogue was organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, with the Department of Youth Affairs and the School of Planning and Architecture serving as knowledge partners.
