Ahmedabad Police Commissioner G Malik on Friday inspected the training of 650 newly selected Traffic Regulation Brigade (TRB) jawans at the Shahibaug police stadium.
The induction of new TRB jawans comes after the state government announced a 50% hike in their daily wages. TRB jawans, who assist traffic police in managing city traffic, will now be paid Rs 450 per day instead of Rs 300.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) N N Chaudhari said the addition of new TRB personnel is expected to make traffic regulation across the city more effective and manageable.
