The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has approved the construction of a modern party plot in Thaltej ward at an estimated cost of Rs 4.5 crore.
Standing Committee chairman Devangbhai Dani said rapid urban growth in areas such as Thaltej, Bhadaj, Shilaj, Hebatpur, Ghuma and Bopal has increased the demand for venues to host social and community events.
Tenders have been invited to develop the party plot on a more than 10,000 square metre site allotted under Town Planning (TP) Scheme 301 in Thaltej ward.
The proposed facility will include separate rooms for the bride and groom, a kitchen, toilets and dedicated parking for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers. Landscaping and tree plantation are also planned.
In another decision, the Standing Committee approved a Rs 31.24 crore tender to resolve long-standing drainage problems in Vastral ward of the East Zone. A 1,600 mm diameter main drainage trunk line will be laid using the micro-tunnelling method from Vastral Panjarapole junction to the Ramol toll plaza. Civic officials said the underground sewer line will provide a long-term solution to the area’s drainage issues.
