Reliance Industries chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani on Sunday described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as an “invincible protective wall,” saying India’s strength amid global uncertainty is rooted in decisive leadership and political stability.
Speaking at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conclave (VGRC) for Kutch and Saurashtra in Rajkot, Ambani said rapid geopolitical changes and global turbulence were reshaping the world, but India remained largely unaffected. He termed the current period as India’s defining decade.
Ambani announced that Reliance will double its investment in Gujarat from ₹3.5 lakh crore to ₹7 lakh crore over the next five years. He said the large-scale investment would generate jobs, livelihoods and long-term wealth in the state.
Highlighting technology plans, Ambani said Reliance aims to position Gujarat as a leader in artificial intelligence, with India’s largest AI-ready data centre coming up in Jamnagar. Jio will also roll out a people-centric AI platform that allows citizens to access AI services on their devices and in their own languages.
On clean energy, he said Jamnagar is being developed into the world’s largest integrated clean energy ecosystem, covering solar power, battery storage, green hydrogen, sustainable aviation fuel and advanced materials. The region, once known for hydrocarbon exports, will emerge as a major hub for green energy and materials.
Ambani also said Reliance Foundation is prepared to support India’s Olympic ambitions and partner with the Gujarat government to manage the Veer Savarkar Multi-Sports Complex in Ahmedabad as part of preparations for a 2036 Olympic Games bid.
