The Ahmedabad Municipal School Board has decided to begin Class 10 academic sessions from April, instead of the usual June–July schedule.
Around 350 students from municipal schools are expected to be promoted to Class 10 in 2026.
AMC school administrator Lagdhir Desai said the move aims to help students perform better in the Class 10 board examinations in 2027. “While we are confident of achieving a 100% pass result in Class 9, students may not be familiar with the board exam pattern, preparation methods, career options, and subject choices in Class 10. To address this, we will start teaching the syllabus from April itself,” he said.
