The Fee Revision Committee (FRC) has rejected city-based St Xavier’s Loyola Hall’s request to charge higher school fees and upheld the decision of the Ahmedabad Zone Fee Committee.
The school had proposed an annual fee of Rs 39,359 for the primary section for the 2024–25 academic year. However, the zone committee approved a fee of only Rs 26,250 per year, a decision later confirmed by the FRC.
Despite this, the school had already collected the higher proposed fee from parents. As a result, the committee issued a notice directing the school to refund the excess amount collected.
St Xavier’s Loyola Hall had challenged the zone committee’s order before the FRC. Meanwhile, the school was instructed to keep the excess Rs 2 crore collected as a fixed deposit until a final decision was taken.
With the FRC now upholding the earlier ruling, the school has been directed to refund the excess fees to parents within a fortnight.
