The third round of post-graduate medical admissions in Gujarat has been delayed, with the process now expected to resume after January 15. Two rounds of admissions have already been completed, and registration for the third round has closed.
Earlier, the state admission committee had planned to finish the third round by January 15. However, the timeline has been pushed back as hearings on appeals related to the approval of new seats are still pending at the central level.
Additionally, a proposal to reduce the qualifying percentile has been submitted, further contributing to the delay. As a result, the third round of admissions is now likely to begin only after January 15.
Following the second round of admissions for MD and MS courses, 163 seats remained vacant as some candidates did not confirm their allotted seats. When combined with 354 previously vacant seats and 118 newly approved seats, a total of 635 PG medical seats are currently available across medical colleges in the state.
