An IndiGo flight travelling from Madinah to Hyderabad was diverted to Ahmedabad on Thursday afternoon after the airline received a bomb threat, triggering an emergency security response.
Airport sources said the aircraft sought priority landing and touched down safely at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. Passengers were quickly deboarded, and the aircraft was moved to an isolation bay for a detailed inspection by the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS).
CISF, local police and other security agencies launched a coordinated search, following all high-risk alert protocols. The incident comes just two days after an IndiGo flight from Kuwait to Hyderabad was diverted to Mumbai over a similar threat.
Officials in Ahmedabad said a probe has been launched, and the aircraft will be cleared only after all security checks are completed.
