Two people suffered minor injuries on Thursday afternoon when a large banner near Sindhu Bhavan Road collapsed onto their Activa scooter.
Officials said the flex banner — believed to be part of Commonwealth Games promotions — had been tied to poles along the footpath. It apparently fell due to loose fastening and landed on the riders as they passed underneath.
Both injured commuters received first aid at a nearby facility.
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has launched an inquiry to identify who installed the banner and whether required permissions were taken. Civic officials said action will follow if any rule violations or installation lapses are found. The banner was later removed to avoid further accidents, and police are reviewing CCTV footage to fix responsibility.
