Days after the District Education Officer (DEO) pulled up Udgam School for allegedly pressuring parents to buy specific brands of winter wear and other items, the school has removed all brand names from its website.
Earlier, the school said it had listed multiple brands, not just one, but updated the details after receiving the DEO’s notice.
Udgam had been issued a show-cause notice and asked the DEO to clarify which RTE clause it had violated. The DEO later shared all required details with the school.
DEO R.M. Chaudhari said his office clarified the rules under the RTE Act. Executive Director Manan Choksi confirmed that the brand names have now been removed.
