Passengers in Ahmedabad faced major problems on Tuesday afternoon after the railway ticket-booking server crashed for nearly two hours, stopping all reservation work.
Long queues formed at the Kalupur railway station counters as people waited to book their tickets. The outage started around 1 pm and affected both online and offline booking. Those trying to book tickets through phones, computers, or counters were unable to complete transactions.
The server failure also disrupted important backend tasks like train chart preparation, leading to further delays. Railway officials later said a technical glitch in the IRCTC system between 1 pm and 3 pm caused the complete shutdown of the booking process.
