Ahmedabad’s iconic Vastrapur Lake has undergone a major ₹10-crore redevelopment under the Bodakdev ward and will reopen to the public soon. From January 1, 2026, visitors will be charged an entry fee of ₹10.
After Gotila Garden and Monte Carlo Garden, Vastrapur Lake is the latest city spot to adopt an entry-fee system. Recreation Committee Chairman Jayesh Trivedi said the lake will remain free between 6 am and 10 am. It will stay closed from 12 pm to 2 pm and open again from 2 pm to 10 pm daily.
The redevelopment, executed by Umiya Vijay Infra, includes upgraded entrances at Narsinh Mehta Gate, Kalyan Pushti Gate and Shaheed Chowk Gate. Work is also nearing completion on three new fountains, upper and lower walkways, and three gazebos built between the pathways.
