Flight disruptions continued for the third straight day at Ahmedabad airport on Friday, with 30 arrivals and departures affected. Four international flights were cancelled and 23 domestic services were delayed due to poor visibility and drifting volcanic ash from Ethiopia.
Airport officials said SpiceJet’s Ahmedabad–Goa flight faced the longest delay of nearly 12 hours. Two Iran Air flights to Mashhad were cancelled, while delays hit several international routes including Jeddah, Kuwait, Bangkok and Dubai. Air India’s London–Ahmedabad flight also landed an hour late.
Domestic flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Indore, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Belgaum, Chennai, Purena and Jalgaon were delayed by up to two hours.
