Legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra passed away on Monday at the age of 89, according to IANS. His death was confirmed after speculation earlier in the day when an ambulance with tight security was seen entering his Mumbai residence.
The actor had been facing serious health issues in recent weeks. He was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital last week after his condition worsened, and reports of ventilator support had raised concern across the film industry. His children—Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Esha Deol—and Hema Malini were frequently seen at the hospital. Many celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan Khan and Salman Khan, also visited to check on him.
During his hospital stay, false death rumours circulated widely, prompting his family to issue clarifications. Dharmendra was discharged on November 12, after which the Deol family released a statement thanking fans for their support and requesting privacy.
The family said he would continue recovering at home and urged the public to avoid speculation and respect his privacy.
