The Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) is facing mounting criticism as the Class 1 and 2 recruitment process for 2023–24 remains stuck for more than a year.
The prelims were held in January 2024 and the mains in October 2024, yet the GPSC has not declared the mains results, leaving around 9,900 candidates in prolonged uncertainty.Aspirants say the delay has caused severe confusion, financial strain, and a complete lack of clarity about the next steps.
Despite repeated representations, the commission has not given any timeline for result declaration or interview dates.Candidates also point to a major administrative gap — GPSC currently has only a Chairman and one member, with five posts vacant.
They allege that while mains results are pending, the commission continues issuing new recruitment notifications, making it difficult to decide whether to prepare for fresh exams or wait for the stalled process.Many complain that queries to the commission are met only with the response: “Keep checking the website.”
For an advertisement issued nearly two years ago, the selection process remains far from complete.With no official statement from GPSC, thousands of candidates remain anxious and frustrated, awaiting clarity on when mains results will be released and interviews will begin.
