Three students from the Department of Civil Engineering at the Institute of Infrastructure, Technology, Research and Management (IITRAM), Ahmedabad, have achieved a remarkable feat by securing the First Prize in the University Challenge India held during IFAT India 2025 in Mumbai on 15–16 October 2025.
The winning team includes Ajaat Kaushikeya, Advika Verma, and Aaditya Aaryan. They all are third-year Civil Engineering students and have competed against participants from 7 premier institutions across India. The University Challenge India, organized under IFAT India, is a prestigious competition that encourages young engineers to devise innovative and sustainable solutions in the fields of water, wastewater, and environmental management.
As part of their recognition, the trio has been selected to participate in the Young Water Professionals Programme, scheduled from 4th to 7th May 2026 in Munich, Germany. The group will receive full sponsorship for the program.
Expressing pride in the students’ accomplishment, IITRAM officials highlighted that the award reflects the institute’s growing emphasis on research-driven, practical learning and its commitment to addressing global environmental challenges through innovation.
This achievement not only underscores the academic excellence and technical capability of IITRAM students but also reinforces India’s emerging role in advancing sustainable infrastructure and environmental stewardship on the global stage.
