With Diwali just days away, Ahmedabad’s major markets were packed with shoppers on Sunday, marking the start of the festive rush.
From Bhadra and Teen Darwaza to CG Road, Satellite, and Maninagar, bustling crowds filled the streets late into the night. Traders reported brisk sales in clothing, electronics, decorations, and household items, saying the weekend rush brought a welcome boost ahead of the celebrations.
Families and shoppers used the weekend to wrap up their festive shopping, creating lively scenes across more than two dozen city markets. As Ahmedabad readies for six days of Diwali festivities, traders expect the shopping enthusiasm to continue, with another surge likely during the Dhanteras weekend.
