A shocking video from Gir National Park has gone viral, showing a violent clash between an Asiatic lion and a lioness.
Shared by Rajya Sabha MP and wildlife enthusiast Parimal Nathwani on October 5, the clip captures a young lion suddenly turning aggressive toward a lioness. The lion pins her down and attacks fiercely as the lioness struggles to defend herself. The growls and roars in the background make the scene even more intense.
Nathwani captioned the video on X (formerly Twitter): “In the wild, power is a test of strength and survival – only the strongest reign supreme.”
Experts say such fights, though distressing to watch, are common in the wild, often triggered by territorial disputes, mating conflicts, or dominance battles.
Forest officials confirmed that the incident occurred naturally and that no serious injuries or deaths have been reported among the animals involved.
