Ahead of Diwali, the Gujarat government has announced an ad-hoc bonus of up to ₹7,000 for Class-4 employees, bringing festive cheer to thousands of staff.
The bonus is not limited to state government departments. Class-4 employees working in the Council of Ministers’ offices, Assembly Speaker and Deputy Speaker offices, Panchayats, universities, affiliated colleges, and grant-in-aid schools and colleges are also eligible.
Staff serving in state boards and corporations, where bonuses are usually not given, will likewise benefit from the scheme.
According to official estimates, 16,921 Class-4 employees will directly gain from this announcement. The state finance department has been instructed to issue necessary orders and guidelines for timely disbursement.
Officials said the decision will provide financial relief to employees ahead of the festival season, helping them celebrate Diwali with ease.
