Chaos broke out on Sunday at a newly opened pizza outlet in Prahladnagar, Ahmedabad, after it announced a giveaway of 1,500 free pizzas to mark the launch of its new branch.
The offer attracted a massive crowd, and the area quickly became overcrowded, with parking space unable to accommodate the influx of visitors. This led to severe traffic congestion in the vicinity.
Traffic police intervened, bringing a towing van to remove illegally parked vehicles. Many visitors ended up paying hefty fines, turning their free pizza treat into an unexpectedly costly affair.
Reports also noted that the outlet had limited the giveaway to one pizza per person, which further fueled the crowd outside the shop.
