Car and two-wheeler sales in Gujarat surged 15% during the Navratri–Dussehra period, touching nearly 3,300 crore in total transactions, according to Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) data.
Ahmedabad leads the way
Ahmedabad alone accounted for about 30% of the state’s automobile sales, with bookings of 14,000–15,000 two-wheelers and 5,500–6,000 cars. On Dussehra day, the district saw deliveries of 6,000 two-wheelers and 2,400 cars.
Statewide sales boom
Across Gujarat, bookings reached 1.05–1.10 lakh two-wheelers and 22,000–24,000 cars during the 10-day festive period. Deliveries on Dussehra day alone included 44,000 two-wheelers and 10,000 cars.
SUVs & hatchbacks dominate
Hatchbacks retained their 40% market share, while SUVs followed closely with 35%. Sedans continued to lose ground, with many buyers preferring compact SUVs priced from ₹10 lakh onwards. Hybrid cars, particularly petrol models, also saw rising demand.
Rural markets shine
Dealers reported stronger growth in rural areas compared to urban centres, attributing the rise to GST 2.0 benefits, festive schemes, good monsoon, government allowances, and bonuses for railway employees.
“GST reforms have boosted growth momentum by reducing average prices of two-wheelers by 10,000 and cars by 1 lakh,” said FADA Gujarat Chairperson Pranav Shah.
