Ending Gujarat’s decades-long dependence on CBSE’s Ajmer regional office, the board is set to establish a dedicated state office in Ahmedabad’s Chandkheda.
A senior CBSE official, Anil Thakur, visited the city this week to review preparations, with operations expected to begin as early as November. A temporary office has already been identified, while land for a permanent headquarters is being finalized.
For Gujarat’s 590 CBSE-affiliated schools, the move brings long-awaited relief. School managements say the new office will resolve academic and administrative concerns faster, especially during examinations, eliminating delays caused by dealing with Ajmer.
“This will finally bring CBSE support to our doorstep,” said a city trustee.
