Ahmedabad – A Navratri garba celebration at a party plot near Vakil Saheb Bridge in Bopal turned violent on Friday night after a group of men allegedly tried to enter the venue without tickets, leading to a clash with organisers and security staff. The disturbance forced organisers to halt the event midway.
According to a complaint filed by Hiteshsinh Rajput, a resident of Sachana in Viramgam, his cousin Kuldeepsinh had organised the garba at Basera Party Plot. While leaving the venue, Hiteshsinh noticed several individuals attempting to jump over the compound wall.
The accused — identified as Suraj Bharwad, Dhiren Bharwad, Pratham Bharwad, Ajay Bharwad, Mehul Bharwad and others — allegedly tried to push their way in through the ticket counter. When confronted, they reportedly called around 20 more people from Hebatpur, who stormed the venue, damaging property and triggering panic among participants.
Sarkhej police have registered a case of attempted murder along with charges of rioting and vandalism against the accused.
