Viral Video at United Way Venue Sparks Backlash
A video of a couple kissing in front of the goddess’s pandal at the United Way Garba ground in Vadodara during the Navratri festivities has gone viral, triggering sharp criticism from religious groups, participants, and social media users.
The clip, widely shared online, shows the couple in the midst of thousands of revellers. Many called the act “objectionable” and slammed the organisers for failing to maintain decorum.
Sources said the incident is under review, and strict guidelines may be issued to organisers to prevent a repeat.
United Way of Baroda, one of Gujarat’s most popular Garba venues, had already faced flak on the opening day this year after revellers complained of mud and slush at the ground following rain—the second year in a row the venue has faced such issues.
