Fifty-two players showcased their golfing skills in the ninth round of Gulmohar Golfer of the Year 2025 (GGOY), played at Gulmohar Greens – Golf & Country Club as part of the Bimavale-Go Golf 2025 calendar.
Close contests were featured in all the four categories. Rutvik Thakkar emerged as the winner in the low handicap category with 85 gross and 33 (B9-18) points. Michael Weir finished as the runner-up with 89 gross and 33 (B9-17) points.
Pranay Parikh topped the charts in the mid handicap category with 89 gross and 38 points, while Navjot Singh Bhamra was the runner-up with 93 gross and 36 points.
In the high handicap category, Gilbert Satera emerged as the winner with 98 gross and 39 points. Clemence Ignacia was the runner-up with 105 gross and 36 points. The three winners earned 3,000 reward points for their efforts, while the runner-ups received 1,800 points each.
In the skill competitions, Jem Jose won the contest for the longest drive at hole #1 with a shot of 236 yards. Rajinder Chauhan won the competition for closest to pin at hole #3 by landing the ball 33 feet and ten inches from the hole. JY Kim emerged as the winner for the second shot closest to pin at hole #9 by landing the ball 17 feet and three inches from the hole.
In the junior category, Juhi Mavani was the winner with 88 gross and 35 (B9-17) points, with Devjeet Singh was the runner-up with 85 gross and 35 (B9-15) points. They earned 1,500 and 1,200 reward points, respectively. In all, 26 golfers from the four categories received reward points.
