The Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST), under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), has launched the country’s largest National STEM Quiz 4.0, offering prizes worth up to Rs 2 crore.
Unveiled by DST Secretary P. Bharti, the quiz — themed “A New Journey for a New Generation” — aims to foster curiosity, analytical skills, and problem-solving among school students. Along with cash rewards, winners will visit premier institutions like BARC-Mumbai, DRDO, SAC-ISRO, and NFSU-Gandhinagar, besides attending an exclusive STEM boot camp for the top 200 students.
The competition is open to students across India in two categories: Junior (Class 9–10) and Senior (Class 11–12). Registration is free at www.stemquiz.gujarat.gov.in
until October 30, 2025.
GUJCOST Advisor Narottam Sahu noted that the quiz has become a national platform since its inception in 2022. Last year’s edition saw over 10.12 lakh registrations, and this year the target is 20 lakh students.
A Quiz Bank book for both levels was also released at the launch, attended by key officials from GUJCOST, GSBTM, GSEM, GCERT, and schools across the country.
With STEM — science, technology, engineering, and mathematics — driving India’s progress in fields from space exploration to healthcare, the initiative seeks to prepare students for future opportunities and challenges.
