After a brief break, rain is set to return and could disrupt Navratri festivities in Gujarat. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate showers along with winds of 30–40 kmph in Ahmedabad on the very first night of celebrations.
According to the forecast, the city is likely to experience intermittent rain between September 19 and 22, with similar conditions possible from September 23 to 25. The weather is expected to remain dry from September 26 to 29, before showers may return on September 30.
So far this monsoon, Ahmedabad city has received 110% of its average rainfall, while Ahmedabad district has recorded 91%.
The IMD has also issued alerts for light thunderstorms, lightning, and surface winds accompanied by rain in several districts, including Gandhinagar, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Bhavnagar, and others, from September 19 to 23.
