The Gujarat High Court has dismissed an application by ex-cricketer and TMC MP Yusuf Pathan in a case involving encroachment on Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) land.
Pathan had challenged a June 6, 2024 state government order that rejected VMC’s proposal to lease him a 978 sq. mt. plot for 99 years without public auction. The order also directed the VMC to clear the encroachment urgently.
The court observed that long possession does not create ownership rights and noted that Pathan had not paid any amount to the corporation for the land.
