Amdavadis will be spoilt for choice this Navratri, with nearly 50% more garba events lined up compared to last year. But the real surprise is the sharp rise in premium, invitation-only and one- or two-night exclusive events. These high-end celebrations, featuring lavish décor, themed setups and luxury offerings, could cost organisers anywhere between ₹1 crore and ₹1.5 crore a night, say industry experts.Customised and exclusiveJaydeep Mehta, founder-president of the Event Management Federation Global, said the boom is driven by demand for tailored experiences.
“Corporate houses, organisations and even friend groups are hosting niche one- or two-night garbas. The focus is on exclusivity. Premium events priced at ₹1,000 to ₹10,000 per person are only going up,” he said.Early promotions beginBreaking from tradition, organisers are launching promotions months in advance. Foodaholics Garba has already opened bookings for its one-night event through online and offline campaigns.Young professionals Akshat Trivedi and Saujanya Kapil are hosting Samyukta Garba, aimed at a younger crowd.
“We started planning six months ago and are now pushing promotions across social media,” Trivedi said. Kapil added, “We’ve expanded venue capacity by 50% this year, plan to launch an app for smoother service, and are offering early-bird discounts.”Similarly, Pratik Amin of Shakti Sandhya Season-3 said promotions have started early to fill a 15,000-capacity venue in Gota.
Online listings doubleAccording to Ruchit Patel, co-founder of event portal All Events, the online buzz reflects the boom. “Garba listings have doubled this year, with more premium events coming in. Organisers are offering group bookings and early-bird deals to pull in bigger crowds,” he said.
