The annual Janmashtami fair in Rajkot, Shaurya Nu Sindoor Lokmela, was inaugurated on Thursday by state minister Raghavji Patel.
The five-day event, being held at Rajkot’s Racecourse, will run until August 18 and features over 50 amusement rides and 200-plus stalls, with a special focus on children and families.
To ensure safety and smooth crowd management, around 2,000 police personnel have been deployed, informed Parthrajsinh Gohil, DCP of the Rajkot Crime Branch.
