The Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has requested the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) to extend due dates for filing Income Tax Returns (ITRs) and Tax Audit Reports for FY 2024-25. The appeal cites late release of filing utilities, technical glitches on the portal, and festive season disruptions.
In a letter to the CBDT Chairman, GCCI’s Jainik Vakil noted that some ITR utilities came out only in late July, with ITR-6 and ITR-7 still pending. Frequent portal errors, mismatches in Form 26AS, AIS and TIS, and new ICAI formats for non-corporate entities have further slowed compliance. GCCI has proposed new deadlines — non-audit ITRs by October 30, audit reports by November 30, and audit case ITRs by December 31 — to ease pressure and improve accuracy.
