Ahead of Ganesh celebrations from August 27 to September 6, the Special Branch of Ahmedabad Police has released guidelines for idol installations and immersion processions.
According to a media report, organisers must obtain permission from their local police station for both installing Ganesh idols and using loudspeakers. Additionally, they are required to apply for immersion procession permission on the same day they apply for idol installation.
If the immersion procession stays within a single police zone, the local police station will grant the permission. However, if it crosses into multiple zones, approval must be obtained from the Commissioner of Police, Special Branch.
