Telecom operator Vodafone Idea (Vi) has announced the launch of its 5G services in four major cities of Gujarat — Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, and Vadodara — starting Thursday. This rollout is part of Vi’s broader 5G expansion across 23 cities within its 17 priority circles where it holds 5G spectrum.
As part of its introductory offer, Vi is offering unlimited 5G data on recharge plans starting from ₹299. Similar to 4G, users will also enjoy unlimited data and calls on 5G.
Naveen Sunghvi, Business Head–Gujarat, Vodafone Idea, said, “As we roll out Vi 5G in Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, and Vadodara, we are thrilled to bring next-generation connectivity to key cities in Gujarat. With a strong 4G foundation and next-gen 5G, our aim is to offer enhanced digital experiences and greater choices to our users.”
He added that Vi currently holds a 30% market share in Gujarat and plans to extend its 5G services to Tier II and Tier III cities in the near future.
