To make the process easier and more transparent, the Gujarat state government has made it mandatory to apply online for converting agricultural land to non-agricultural (NA) use and for obtaining Revenue Title and Legal Ownership Certificates (RTLOC). Applicants must apply through http://iora.gujarat.gov.in.
To apply, one must fill out the required form, self-attest all necessary documents, and ensure all landowners either sign or provide thumb impressions. If any false information is submitted, legal action will be taken under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The new rules, which are now in effect, state that applications will be processed by the deputy collector in urban areas and by the mamlatdar in rural areas. Decisions must be made within five days. If additional details are required, the process must be completed within seven days.
If an application is rejected, the official must provide technical reasons. Any official giving false or incorrect reports will face penalties.
Applicants can track the status of their applications online and follow the entire process digitally.
