The Regional Transport Office (RTO) has notified the closure of 121 showrooms in Maharashtra State belonging to the Ola Electronics Mobility Limited for carrying out business without the mandatory Trade Certificate. So far 109 show cause notices have been issued by the RTO.
Ola has opened 146 showrooms in 55 cities of the state. Only 27 of them had a valid Trade Certificate. RTO has directed Ola to close the showrooms that are being run without the required certificate. RTO stated that 75 showrooms have been closed so far, and 192 vehicles have been seized.
Ola sold thousands of vehicles through its showrooms. During the last financial year, 23,802 vehicles were sold. The RTO is further examining records based on their chassis numbers.
