Over 500 Students Register for 281 Vacant PG Medical Seats

Admissions resume after NEET-PG eligibility lowered; new rounds for admission to state and All-India quotas announced

The registration process for vacant postgraduate medical seats after the reduction in NEET-PG eligibility criteria resumed with 524 students registering for the 281 vacant state quota seats, following two rounds of admissions.

The Centre had lowered the eligibility requirement from the 50th percentile to the 15th percentile, allowing more students to apply. As a result, fresh registrations were opened.

Of the 281 vacant seats, 69 will be directly offered to candidates who were previously eligible. For the rest, students can now update their preferences.

The third round for All-India quota seats began on December 26 and will continue until January 18 The third round for state quota seats will be held from January 18 to 28. Candidates must confirm their admissions by January 25 for the All-India Quota and by February 3 for the state quota.

If seats remain unfilled after the third round, further admission rounds will be conducted between February 3 and 8 for the All-India Quota and from February 6 to 15 for the state quota.

The final admission deadline has been extended to February 20 to ensure ample time for students to secure their seats.
