A private school in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad has been asked to expel a teacher after a video of him brutally thrashing a student went viral. Two schools were sent a notice and asked to clarify the incident after the video of the act surfaced online.
According to the CCTV footage, the incident took place on September 24 around 8.00 am. The video shows the teacher walking up to the student’s desk and pulling him from his seat by his hair. He then continues to drag the student towards the front of the classroom and bangs his head on the blackboard.
The teacher pushes the child against the blackboard and slaps him multiple times as the other students continue to watch the act. After the incident went viral, the District Education Officer (DEO) of Ahmedabad sent a notice to two private schools.
The incident took place either at the Madhav Public School or the Divine Gurukulam in Ahmedabad. As a result, both schools have been issued a notice and have been asked to provide clarification by this evening.
The DEO has also ordered the immediate expulsion of the teacher once all the details are identified.
