Great news for travellers planning a train journey between Mumbai and Ahmedabad as a new and revamped version of the popular Vande Bharat Express train will start operating on the route very soon.
Third Mumbai-Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express soon
The Indian Railways has announced that a third Vande Bharat train will soon start plying on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route to boost train connectivity between the two major cities. Additionally, the new Vande Bharat Express is a more improved and enhanced version of the semi-high speed train, and will be offering a much more comfortable and smoother ride to passengers.

The new and improved version of this Vande Bharat Express has been enhanced with cutting-edge technology to boost the safety and comfort of passengers. This new version of the Vande Bharat train has improved seats, better air-conditioning and boasts advanced safety features to ensure a safe, secure and comfortable journey for travellers.
More speed, less travel time
Manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai, the new Vande Bharat Express can run at a top speed of 160 kilometers per hour, and reach this speed in a mere 140 seconds or under 3 minutes, thus cutting travel time by a significant margin.
The new train is expected to complete the Mumbai-Ahmedabad journey in approximately 5 hours and 25 minutes, which is around 45 minutes less compared to its predecessor versions.
New Mumbai-Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Train Timing:
The third Vande Bharat Express train will run six days a week, except Sundays.
From Ahmedabad, the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express (train number 22962) will depart at 6:10 AM in the morning on weekdays and arrive at Mumbai Central at 11:35 AM.
In Mumbai, the Vande Bharat Express (train number 22961) will depart from Mumbai Central at 3:55 PM and reach Ahmedabad at 9:25 PM.

Although the Railways has yet to officially announce a final launch date of the new Vande Bharat train, it is expected that it will be launched soon as final trials and safety tests of the state-of-the-art train have been successfully completed.
