As the 2023-24 academic year draws to a close, final-year students seeking employment have an opportunity to secure their seats with over 49,000 job openings being offered by the Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat (KCG).
Every year, the education department’s KCG in Ahmedabad initiates a common placement drive across the state and grant-in colleges in Gujarat.
The placement process in Gujarat universities started on Feb 20 and is being extended until Mar 19 through 28 placement camps across 443 colleges.
Gujarat University will host the placement camp on Mar 1, Gujarat Technical University (GTU) on Mar 14, Maninagar’s Shri KK Shastri Government Commerce College on Mar 2, and Government Commerce College Naroda on Mar 15.
On Feb 28, placement camps will be organised in Patan, Amreli, Kheda, and Mahisagar districts.
A common centralised placement process was organised at Navsari’s SB Garda College (Arts) and PK Patel College of Commerce.
A total of 84,482 final-year students across the universities in the state have registered for the placement camp against 49,619 vacancies.
Students in degree engineering, diploma engineering, undergraduate and postgraduate courses, vocational courses, and professional, technical, and commerce courses have applied for jobs.
Around 1,941 companies span across fields including IT, banking, chemicals, pharmacy, and manufacturing.
