Three six-foot lemon sharks are the newest addition to Gujarat Science City’s aquatic gallery, and they are expected to draw a large number of visitors. The sharks, which were brought in on Monday, would be on display in the tunnel. Lemon sharks, distinguished by their greenish yellow colour, are calmer in nature than other shark species.
Lemon sharks, which weigh around 250 kg, are mostly found in the shallow seas of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. It can reach a height of eight to ten feet.
The Gujarat Science City’s aquatic gallery houses 180 other aquatic species, including the African Penguin. The gallery raises awareness of the importance of biodiversity and sheds light on animal habitats.
A 28-metre-long walkway tunnel and a large oceanarium complement the 15,000-square-meter gallery. It provides an unforgettable opportunity to learn about marine ecology and aquatic life.
