IIT Kanpur announced results of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2023) held from February, 04 to 12, 2023 in 29 disciplines. A total of 5.17 lakh candidates appeared in the examination in more than 500 centers across the country, and only around 18% candidates cleared. Sarv Verma, a B.Tech (Electrical Engineering) student of IITRAM, Maninagar secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 5 in Electrical Engineering and AIR-4 in Instrumentation Engineering in GATE 2023. He plans to pursue a master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence from IISc, Bangalore.
GATE is a national level examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/Arts. A valid GATE score allows to do further studies in top institutions like IITs, NITs, IIITs etc. in India. Some foreign universities also accept GATE score for admissions like National University of Singapore.Public Sector Undertakings in Indiaalso consider GATE score for hiring like Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) etc.
