Two passengers on a flight from Dubai to Ahmedabad caused a commotion after consuming alcohol onboard late Tuesday night. On arrival at Ahmedabad International Airport, both passengers were arrested.
One of the drunk passengers had lit a cigarette in the flight toilet, which had sparked the fire alarm. Captain of the plane Keyur Banker immediately informed Air Traffic Control (ATC). Both the passengers – Labh Singh Resham Singh (31) and Kamaljeet Ram (47), both residents of Punjab were arrested by Airport police after the plane landed. According to sources, the Indigo Dubai to Ahmedabad flight number 6E 7272 took off on Tuesday at 5.05 pm scheduled to land in the city at 9.35 pm.
As per an airport source the ATC received a message from the flight captain. The message states, “Two passengers onboard the flight are drunk and are out of control. Moreover, one passenger lit a cigarette in the toilet, which triggered the fire alarm. Panicked crew members rushed to the toilet. Though the crew members, Madhvi and Sneha, requested the passengers not to create ruckus, they misbehaved with them. Other passengers also intervened and urged both of them to stay quiet.”
Both passengers were arrested upon the plane’s arrival at the airport. The passengers were arrested after airport police filed a FIR against them.
